How much does cosmetic surgery cost in Thailand?
Costs vary by procedure but typically run 50–70% below New Zealand private pricing. A breast augmentation in NZ runs NZ$18,000–22,000; through MediCation the same procedure with a JCI-accredited surgeon starts from NZ$8,500 including hospital, anaesthetist, and implants. We give you a written quote before you commit to anything.
Is cosmetic surgery safe in Thailand?
Yes, when you choose the right hospital. Every surgeon in our network is board-certified and performs in JCI-accredited hospitals. We have personally vetted each facility and audit outcomes annually. Your dedicated NZ-based coordinator and on-the-ground liaison in Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh City stay with you from arrival to departure.
How long do I need to stay in country for recovery?
It depends on the procedure. Most facial and breast procedures need 7–10 days in country; body procedures 10–14 days. We book your flights, transfers, and accommodation as a package, and your surgeon will only clear you to fly when it is safe.
Is there a weight limit for plastic surgery?
Most surgeons prefer patients within 10 to 15kg of their goal weight, with a stable BMI under 32. This is not arbitrary. It directly affects surgical safety and result quality. We will assess this honestly during your consultation.
Will I need to stop my medications or supplements?
Yes, you will receive a detailed medication protocol at least four weeks before travel. Common items to pause include blood thinners, certain supplements, and some acne or anti-inflammatory medications. Your GP can advise on prescription substitutes.
Can I finance cosmetic surgery?
Yes. We partner with New Zealand finance providers offering 12 to 36 month plans. Some procedures may also qualify for partial medical insurance cover, particularly breast reductions and rhinoplasty with breathing issues. We will help you check before you book.
